Three Pakistanis move into 2nd round: German Open Squash

ISLAMABAD, May 27: All the three Pakistanis advanced to the next round of the German Open squash tournament 2004 at Gerlingen, by winning their first round matches on Wednesday, according to reports reaching here on Thursday.

The tournament carries a prize of US $ 20,250 and will continue until May 30 with a draw of 32 players. The three Pakistanis are: World No.65 Majid Khan, No.87 Khayal Muhammad and No.72 Saeed Hassan.

Majid Khan beat world No.91 Laurent Elriani 15-5, 15-3, 15-11 in 44 minutes, Khayal Muhammad disposed of No. 67 Lee Drew in 70 minutes 13-15, 15- 13, 15-12, 15-8 while Saeed Hassan had the better of No.110 Jesse Engelbrecht 6-15, 15-7, 15-5, 15-7.

Second round fixtures: Majid Khan vs Davide Bianchetti (world No 27), Khayal Mohammad vs Christian Drakenberg (world No.81), Saeed Hassan vs Mark Heather (world No.54). -APP
