Amir voted best boxer

JEJU, June 18: England's Khan Amir as anticipated got the best boxer's award on the final day while Russians bagged six golds in 13th World Junior Boxing Championships on Friday at Jeju, South Korea.

Rawalpindi's Khan Amir now settled in England was very agressive in his final bout against Antikov Zokir from Uzbekistan and defeated him 30:16 in the four rounds encounter.

A jubilant Amir said: "I got an injury in the opening rounds against the Cuban and could not fight with full force in the later bouts." He said that he could not use his right hand due to his injury but anyway he was happy to be the world champion in the lightweight category. Russia won six gold medals out of 11 at stake in the championship and remained on top of the medals list. -PPI
