KASUR: Power outage irks traders, citizens
KASUR, June 23: Unscheduled loadshedding has reportedly caused a great deal of inconvenience to domestic consumers and the business community. Electric appliances of scores of residents broke down due to repeated fluctuation in power supply.
A number of consumers told Dawn here on Wednesday that they were suffering due to the alleged negligence of the Lesco authorities as the officials concerned did not serve them prior notices regarding power suspension.
Owners of powerlooms, printing, sizing machines and tannery units are also facing losses due to the power outages. The main affected areas are Niaznagar, Kot Haleem Khan, Nia Bazaar, Railway Road, Chandni Chowk, Sarafan Bazaar, Khan Mahal Chowk, Kot Murad Khan, Basti Chiragh Shah, Sabri Basti, Dingipura, Androon Kot, Jamatpura, Kot Maulvi Abdul Qadir, Rasoolpur, Kot Usman Khan and Bhatta Haji Sohan Din.
CRIME: People from all walks of life here on Wednesday expressed a grave concern over the rising incidence of crime and the police's alleged failure in this regard.
Awami Falahi Committee secretary-general Mohammad Yasin Farrukh, union council Nazims Haji Javed Akhtar, Mohammad Aslam Ansari and others condemned what they said police's inefficiency to check the crime.
KILLED: Dogs mauled to death a child at Himatpura Khuddian here on Tuesday. Sources said Abdul Saghir, 4, was playing with his three brothers when he was attacked by four dogs.
Residents of the area have expressed their grave concern over the negligence of sanitary staff of the Khuddian town committee and held them responsible for the loss of life. They demanded of the highups to register a criminal case against those responsible.
