Notice of ‘misconduct’ to Multan dist Nazim
LAHORE, May 22: The Punjab local government department has served a show-cause notice on Multan district Nazim Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi for misconduct by proceeding abroad without the government permission.
According to a Punjab government spokesman here on Wednesday, the Multan Nazim had faxed a message on May 10 to the competent authority for an ex-Pakistan leave from May 12 to 14.
The spokesman claimed that the application did not disclose the purpose of the visit and the destination.
He said on receipt of the message, Mr Qureshi was requested to provide with details of the purpose of the visit and the country to be visited so that his case could be expeditiously processed and put up for orders by the competent authority.
The spokesman said without responding to the reference, he had already proceeded abroad and the government came to know about his visit only through the press and that too after his return.
He said according to a government circular, Nazimeen had been requested to seek permission of the competent authority while availing ex-Pakistan leave.
The spokesman said the provincial government has decided to provide full opportunity to him to explain his case for necessary action.
