DERA GHAZI KHAN: Kiln-owners get notices for violating EPD rules

DERA GHAZI KHAN, July 29: The EPD on Thursday issued notices to six brick kilns on charges of violating the EPD rules in DG Khan tehsil. Acting in-charge of the environment department, Abdul Rauf Khan, told Dawn that six brick kilns of mauza khakhi and Samina were issued show-cause notices for spreading poisonous smoke in the air.

He said owners of the challaned kilns were using banned material like sugar mills waste and husk as fuel in kilns Mr Khan said the establishment of kilns near the residential area had been banned. He said after the recommendation of the Lahore head office.

APPROVED: The Punjab planning and development department has approved the upgradation plan of 500 beds for the DHQ hospital and extension in Taunsa Sharif THQ hospital.

This was said by newly-posted Executive District Officer Dr Faiz Ali Jaskani here on Thursday. He said, medical facilities at the DHQ hospital would be increased while a specialist, an emergency and a maternity block would be constructed at the Taunsa THQ hospital.
