ARD slams killing of army men in Khuzdar
KARACHI, Aug 2: President of the Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy (ARD), Sindh chapter, Zain Ansari has strongly condemned the killing of six soldiers in Khuzdar.
In a statement issued on Sunday, he maintained that the country was at the crossroad of fear and insecurity due to the immature and mindless policies of the government. He held the government responsible for bringing disrepute to the country and breeding disunity among its people.
Mr Ansari argued that at a place where head of the state, finance minister, key government officials and soldiers were not safe, how secure could be the common person. He observed that terrorist activities in the country were on the rise creating an increased sense of insecurity among citizens.
The ARD Sindh chief said that the rulers had failed to maintain law and order, but appeared not ready to give up their dictatorial attitude which, he said, was exposing Pakistan to a dangerous situation.
He was of the view that economic conditions in the country had reached the worst-ever stage as people exhausted by poverty and economic miseries were committing suicide.
Mr Ansari said that inflation had risen to an unimaginable high since 1999 which had curtailed purchasing power of common man. He criticized Gen Musharraf for prolonging his rule and refusing to quit as president, saying that the prevailing conditions had been forcing people to find a way out through genuinely elected governments of Nawaz Sharif or Benazir Bhutto.
