NAWABSHAH: Nine posts vacant for two years

NAWABSHAH, Aug 22: Nine posts of scales 17 and 18 are lying vacant in the office of the executive district officer (health) for the last two years.

The posts, vital for smooth running of the health office, include deputy district officer (curative), deputy district officer (HRD), deputy district officer (procurement logistic) and deputy THO (curative).

In the BPS-17 category, the posts are planning officer, nursing superintendent/ADP, accounts officer, audit officer and drug inspector. When contacted, EDO (health) Dr Abdul Khaliq Mangnejo told this correspondent that he had sent reminders to relevant authorities several times but no post had been filled.

He said that though other staff were managing the affairs but if these seats were filled, the system would run more smoothly.

SUICIDE: A woman, Rizwana, 19, wife of Shahbaz Makrani, allegedly committed suicide here on Saturday by hanging herself. The motive was said to be some domestic problem.

BODIES: Bodies of three drug addicts have recently been recovered from different parts of the district. The bodies, recovered from camp No2, Linepar and from near sugar mills, were handed over to Edhi volunteers for burial.
