KHAIRPUR: Minister urges talks on public issues

KHAIRPUR, Aug 23: Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Qamar Mansoor, has said that holding talks to resolve problems is a much better option than resorting to protests as the latter is not the answer to everything.

Talking to journalists at the circuit house here on Saturday, the minister said that demonstrations on the water issue were held everyday in the province despite the fact that ministers belonging to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement had effectively pleaded Sindh's case before the federal government.

He asserted that Sindh generated more revenue than any other province and, as such, its development held great importance for the country, of which, the centre was well aware.

He announced that women's indoor and outdoor games would be held in the city with help of the district government, and added that traditional games would be held along with sports festivals in various districts of the province.

He said that construction of nine sports complexes had been included in the Annual Development Programme scheme to hold national as well as international games.
