Benazir talks to Wapda chief
LARKANA, Aug 24: Former prime minister Benazir Bhutto has expressed concern over unannounced power load shedding and sending of inflated and detection bills to the consumers in Ratodero.
Asghar Shaikh, district information secretary of the People's Party Parliamentarians, told journalists here on Tuesday that PPP district president Ayaz Soomro had recently informed Ms Bhutto about poor performance of Hesco. Later, she talked to the Wapda chairman who directed the Hesco chief to visit Ratodero and Naudero on August 26 and 28 to resolve the problems, Mr Shaikh said.
TEACHER BEATS BOY: A school teacher has severely beaten a student for not taking private tuition from him. This was alleged by Jamal Daoudpoto, the father of the boy. He said here on Tuesday that his son, Samad Jamal, student of class VII in the Government Higher Secondary School, Naudero, used to take private tuition from a teacher, Shiyam Kumar.
Recently Samad discontinued tuition on which the teacher got enraged and severely beat the student, his father said. He said that later, the school principal expelled the student from the school under the pressure of a teachers' association.
Mr Jamal said that he had sent a telegram and a fax to the provincial education minister requesting her to order an inquiry against the teacher.
