Benazir seeks opinion on Lahore PPP chief

LAHORE, Aug 31: PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto has sought the opinion of party's federal council secretary-general Khalid Kharal on who should be appointed president of the Lahore organization after Mian Misbahur Rehman's decision to go on leave.

She has directed Mr Khalid Kharal to consult other party colleagues before proposing a replacement for Mr Misbah.

Mr Kharal has invited Central Executive Committee and Federal Council members hailing from Lahore for a consultative meeting at his residence on Wednesday.

It is expected that the participants would propose a few names, leaving it to the exiled chairperson to take a final decision.
