KASUR: Case against eight officials of Fisheries
KASUR, Sept 7: Ganda Singh police on Tuesday registered a case against eight officials of Kasur Fisheries department, including its director, for trespassing and thrashing a woman, children and her other family members.
Fisheries director Sharif Ahmad along with an inspector, a supervisor and four other officials barged into contractor Hanif Bhatti's house in his absence. The intruders severely beat up Bhatti's wife, children and other family members when they did not find Bhatti. They also searched the house and took away the material of fish catching.
Later, Bhatti moved court, stating that he had a contract of catching fish from the river Sutlej. He further said that he had dumped all his fish catching material to his house due to off season. At this, the court directed the police to register a case against the accused officials. However, no arrest has so far been made.
CASE: Raja Jang police on Tuesday registered a case against six people, including a brick kiln owner, for beating and snatching service cards and cash from bailiffs.
Bailiffs, including Ramzan, Akbar and Jehangir, went to a brick kiln of Khalid Mehmood for the release of worker Nasreen Bibi and her son Muzammil (3). As they were taking the captives with them, Khalid and his five accomplices intercepted them and started beating them. The accused also snatched their service cards, cash and escaped from the scene.
BOOKED: At least 36 farmers were booked on Tuesday on the charge of stealing canal water at Mustafaabad. A team of the Irrigation department headed by the Mustafaabad Canals SDO raided the Dafto village and caught 26 farmers while 10 farmers were caught from Mustafaabad. Police have registered separate cases.
