NAWABSHAH: Disabled people go on hunger strike

NAWABSHAH, Sept 17: Members of the local chaper of the Sindh Disabled Welfare Association staged a demonstration on Thursday against the failure of government to provide jobs to them.

Nabi Bux Shar, Abid Lashari, Yousuf Malik and Mushtaq Memon led the protest. They also observed a token hunger strike. They said people with disabilities be given jobs according to the prescribed quota.

They alleged that the former EDO education, Gul Mohammad Hajano, gave their jobs to people without disabilities after taking a huge bribe. They demanded that orders passed by Mr Hajano be cancelled. They appealed to the president and the prime minister to provide them justice and jobs.

APPEAL: A man, Riaz Mohammad Ismailkhel, has appealed to the president and the prime minister to save his wife's life who might be killed as kari by her relatives. Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, he said he married Tehmina Kandhro about five months back and were living happily in Nawabshah.
