HYDERABAD: Three-day book fair opens at MUET

HYDERABAD, Sept 22: A three-day-long book fair was inaugurated at the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, on Wednesday. It was inaugurated by the university's Vice Chancellor Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan Rajput.

Over 20 stalls have been set up by publishers and printers from all over the country. The vice-chancellor appreciated the teachers, students and the university's officials for their efforts to organize the book fair.

He said the university had attained the status of a prestigious educational institution, adding that it had been certified under the ISO-9000, which would help its graduates to get jobs. A large number of teachers and students of the Sindh University and Liaquat Medical University also visited the book fair.

OUR BUREAU REPORTS: Dr M.A. Kazi Institute of Chemistry, University of Sindh, has published a book, Environmental, Social and Cultural Impact of Water Scarcity in Sindh, edited by learned scholar Dr Mohammad Yar Khuhawar (S.I.) and Dr Mohammad Rafi Arain.

The book contains research articles by eminent scientists and scholars presented at a two-day seminar on 'Environmental, Social and Cultural Impact of Water Scarcity in Sindh', organized by the university in January. The book, spread over 238 pages, can be obtained from the Dr M.A. Kazi Institute of Chemistry for Rs150.
