SUKKUR: Four illegal detainees freed
SUKKUR, Sept 22: The civil judge of Daharki on Wednesday conducted a raid on the Reti police check post and recovered four people who were kept in illegal detention.
Abdul Qayoom Bhutto had filed an application in the court of the district and session Judge, Ghotki, stating that officials of the check post had arrested Ghulam, Ali Bux, Bhooral and Mastoi Bhutto and kept them in illegal detention.
He said police officials were demanding gratification for their release. The district and session judge, Abdul Rasool Memon, directed the civil judge of Daharki, Ghulam Murtaza Leghari, to conduct a raid on the police check post.
The civil judge conducted a raid on the Reti police check post and recovered four illegal detainees from the lockup. He ordered the in-charge and other officials of the check post to appear before the district and session court, Ghotki, on Thursday.
CONVICTED: The judge of anti-terrorism court-II, Sukkur and Larkana divisions, on Wednesday convicted and sentenced four accused to undergo life imprisonment on charges of murder of two policemen.
On May 16, 2003, four armed men had attacked a police check post near Bachal Shah Miani in Sukkur and killed ASI Maqbool and head constable Kashif. Three accused Kajlo, Gul Hassan, and Bangul were arrested and challaned in the court while fourth accused, Malguzar Teghani, was tried in absentia. The court sentenced all the accused to undergo twice life imprisonment and pay fine Rs50,000 each.
ELECTROCUTED: A man, Shah Mohammad Jafary, 30, was electrocuted in Ghulam Mohammad village near Pano Akil on Wednesday. He was repairing wiring in his house when the incident happened. His body was brought to Pano Akil hospital and handed over to relatives after the postmortem.
