HYDERABAD: Students' protest continues

HYDERABAD, Oct 29: A group of the Sindh University students, belonging to the Jeay Sindh Students' Federation, continued their token hunger strike outside the local press club on the fifth day on Friday to put pressure the university authorities to accept their demands.

Their demands include removal of the director of administration branch, withdrawal of Rs1,000 increase in fees, elimination of transport shortage and holding of supplementary examinations.

UNIVERSITY VERSION: A spokesman for the university, on being contacted on telephone, said that the demands were not justified and added that for four years, not a single paisa had been increased in fees.

He said that supplementary examinations would be held on November 22 but since the student leaders did not read the university notice board, they did not know about the examination or admission schedule.
