HYDERABAD: SHC summons former HDA officials
HYDERABAD, Oct 29: A division bench of the Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit, here on Friday directed the former director-general of the Hyderabad Development Authority , Mr Ali Ahmed Lund, and directors Masood Jumani and Nadeem Rizwan to appear in the court in a contempt case on Nov 26.
The bench, comprising Justice Syed Zawar Hussain Jaffery and Justice Azizullah M. Memon, said the officials had not appeared in the court though they had been served notice of contempt.
Abdul Majeed, a resident of Ahsanabad, had filed an application that the officials in collusion with the builders were raising unauthorised construction in violation of two the court orders.
He said Jawed Saleem and Majeed Behleem had launched the Ahsanabad housing scheme duly approved by the officials with amenities including mosque, park, school, road sewerage, water supply and sui gas.
He said that the respondents did not develop the project as per the plan. He said they had reduced width of road and no sewerage or water supply lines were laid, causing sewerage and drainage problems for the inhabitants.
He said after illegalities were identified to respondents the officials did not take any notice. He said the respondents were bound to ensure compliance of the building rules but they failed to do so.
SANITARY WORKER: The additional chief secretary, Sindh, Mr Saleem Khan, on Thursday sought a month's time from the Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, for payment of pension and gratuity to a sanitary worker, Kirandas. He said the orders would accordingly be issued to the Taluka Municipal Administration city for the payment.
