HYDERABAD: Plan to set up modern villages

HYDERABAD, Nov 28: The Board of Revenue, Sindh, will conduct a survey of villages in the district with a view to establishing modern villages and to secure residential rights of inhabitants.

This was stated by the senior member of the board, Mirza Karim Baig, while holding a meeting with officials of the revenue department here on Saturday. He said the record of property rights might be scrutinized and computerized by adopting a proper procedure.

Mr Baig said that strict action would be taken if any one was found in tampering the record of rights. He urged the officials to wind up revenue collection before Dec 31 to finalize the consolidated report.

He called upon the officials to submit their reports about recoverable and non-recoverable dues within 15 days for adopting future strategy in this regard. The senior member directed the officials for adopting transparent policy regarding disposal of resumed land according to the Land Revenue Act.

He said the details of allotment of land should be furnished to the revenue headquarter. He said the recovery work had been lauded by the economic coordination committee of the cabinet but still there was room for improvement to facilitate the people and raise the government revenue.

While discussing the litigation matters, he directed the officials to expedite disposal of pending revenue cases to ensure easy justice to land owners.
