KHAIRPUR: Eight villages without power for 3 months

KHAIRPUR, Nov 30: Supply of power to eight villages of the Kingri taluka remains disconnected for the last three months. Residents of the villages staged a sit-in outside the press club on Tuesday and told newsmen that power supply to Rasheed Jagirani, Fateh Khan, Khair Mohammad, Darya Khan, Bakhshan Jagirani and Kot Pul area had been disconnected by Hesco during Solangi-Jagirani clashes.

They said there were no dues outstanding against villages and electricity was disconnected due to clashes. They criticized Hesco for not restoring power supply after the two groups had made peace.

PROTREST: Students and teachers of the Government Degree College Pir-Jo-Goth boycotted their classes and took out a procession in protest against the kidnapping of Prof Ashraf Rajput. The former principal of the Degree College Pir-Jo-Goth was kidnapped some three days back.

KILLED: A boy was killed while his mother and brother were injured in firing by armed men on Monday. Ms Waziran with her two sons was on way from Pir-Jo-Goth to Hayat Ujjan village when armed men opened fire on them, killing Ameer Hussain on the spot and injuring Waziran and Allah Wasayo.

The injured were admitted to the Rural Health Centre Pir-Jo-Goth from where they had been referred to the Civil Hospital Khairpur.
