SHEIKHUPURA: Constable shot dead by outlaw

SHEIKHUPURA, Dec 8: A Railway police constable was shot dead by an alleged outlaw on the platform here on Wednesday. Tariq, performing his duty on the platform, stopped a person for his body search.

But he whipped out his pistol and opened fire on the constable, killing him instantly. However, the policemen with the help of passengers arrested the killer. The accused was later identified as Imran of Imamia Colony.

Initial interrogation gave out that the arrested accused was a proclaimed offender, involved in dozens of heinous crimes. Police have registered a case and are investigating.

EYE CAMP: A three-day free eye camp will be jointly organized by the local DHQ Hospital and UK-based NGO 'Sight Savers' from Dec 9 at the DHQ Hospital.

Eye specialists Dr Abdul Bari of the DHQ Hospital and Prof Asad Aslam Khan of the Mayo Hospital, Lahore, will conduct operations free of cost. Free medicines will also be provided to the patients.
