SUKKUR: PPP MNAs criticize bifurcation of districts

SUKKUR, Dec 14: People's Party Parliamentarians' MNA Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani has opposed making Kashmore a new district, instead of Kandhkot. In a statement issued here on Tuesday, he alleged that Kashmore had been made a district to benefit two political figures of the area.

He regretted that his constituency had been divided into two portions, one in the Jacobabad district and the other in Kashmore. He said there was no need to divide the Jacobabad district, adding that the decision was politically motivated. Jacobabad District Nazim Mir Shabbir Bijarani said Kandhkot should have been made a district.

PPP women's wing leader Shabana Malik also opposed the decision while district PPP president Fida Hussain Mirani announced to launch a protest movement against the decision.

CASES: Sindh ombudsman Khan Yousuf Jamal disposed of four of 15 cases he heard at his regional office here on Monday.

KHAIRPUR: People's Party Parliamentarians MPA Nawab Wassan has criticized the bifurcation of Larkana, Dadu and Jacobabad districts and termed it division of Sindh and its people.

Talking to journalists at Wassan House here on Tuesday, he maintained that the division of the districts was a new way of political victimization. However, the PPP leader said such measures could not influence his party's popularity among people.

INJURED: One person was injured and a kutcha house was set on fire during a clash between two groups in Deh Baharo, Gambat police station jurisdiction, on Monday night.

Ali Murad Gilal was injured and the house of Manzoor Gilal was set ablaze. Manzoor Hussain Gilal lodged an FIR against Imran, Atta Mohammad, Deedar, Ali Gohar, Abdul Jabbar and Hakim on Tuesday, stating that Ali Murad was injured in their firing. He also accused them of setting the house on fire. The reason behind the incident is said to be a dispute over a plot.

GAMBLERS ARRESTED: The B-section police conducted a raid in the Wandh locality and arrested 10 gamblers here Monday night. Police also seized two mobiles, one motorbike and six watches. A case was registered against the accused.

35 BOOKED: The Babarloi police booked 30 people for blocking the Khairpur-Sukkur road following a motorcycle robbery bid in which the motorcyclist was injured a couple of days ago.
