Prices of plots in Gwadar scheme increased

QUETTA, Dec 23: The Balochistan government has increased prices of plots in a Gwadar housing scheme and urged investors to deposit fee on transfer of plots.

The decision to increase the prices of residential and commercial plots in the phase-5 of the Singhar Housing Scheme in Gwadar was taken in a meeting presided over by Chief Minister Jam Mohammad Yousuf.

The meeting reviewed the pace of development work and structure of basic amenities in the coastal town. The decision would be implemented with immediate effect. The meeting asked investors that they must deposit in the government treasury.

The director of the housing scheme and Gwadar's district administrative officer were directed to ensure the depositing of transfer fee in government accounts. The meeting approved a project to connect the housing scheme to the town's grid station to initiate development work as soon as possible.

It called for increasing the capacity of Gwadar grid station's distribution system, to enable it to supply electricity to the town's suburbs. The meeting urged officials to prepare a feasibility report about the installation of a desalination plant for supplying drinking water to the Singhar Housing Scheme.

It was decided that government-owned land would soon be handed over to the authorities concerned for construction of an airport and setting up an export processing zone. "All projects relating to health, education, irrigation and other sectors must be completed on time," Chief Minister Jam Yousuf said.
