KASUR: Robbers on the rampage

KASUR, Dec 27: Armed bandits snatched over Rs1 million in cash and took away a car and a motorcycle in four different strikes here on Monday. Malik Nazir Ahmad, manager of Nasir filling station, along with his gunman Muhammad Younas, was going to a bank for depositing Rs1.125 million by a rickshaw (LRS-1889).

Near Rangers Headquarters on the Bus Stand Road, four armed men intercepted them and tried to snatch cash from them. For holding them out, the robbers shot and injured the gunman and beat up the manager. Later, the robbers snatched the bag containing the amount and also took away the rifle of the gunman.

Later on, the same robbers intercepted passer by Salamat Ali who was on way home by his motorcycle (LRM-2981). The armed bandits snatched his motorcycle and escaped while resorting to aerial firing.

Fayaz Ahmad was going to Pattoki from Chunian by his car (LRY-1767) when three armed men intercepted him near Malanwala village, Pattoki. The bandits dragged him out of the car and then drove away with it.

Three armed dacoits barged into the house of Nisar Ahmad Qadri in Chhanga Manga, held the family hostage, collected Rs375,000 in cash and fled. Police have registered a case.
