THATTA: Water shortage in Thatta
THATTA, Jan 3: A large number of people in Thatta and its outskirts are facing an acute shortage of potable water as the town reservoirs have dried up due to stoppage of water supply from the canals over past ten days.
According to the district administration, Jam Wah, and K.B. lower and upper feeders, which supply water to the town, had been closed to maintain water level of the Keenjhar Lake, a major source of water supply to Karachi.
Source said that because of a decrease in water level in the lake from 49 1RL to 47 1RL and water crisis downstream Kotri, the canals had been closed to avert shortage of water supply to Karachi.
