KHAIRPUR: 2,300 teachers’ posts lying vacant
KHAIRPUR, May 28: Sindh education secretary Nazar Hussain Mahar has said around 2,300 posts of teachers were lying vacant in the province.
Speaking at a press conference here on Tuesday, he said for the 2,700 posts only 400 candidates were found suitable by Sindh Public Service Commission thus 2,300 posts were still lying vacant.
Regretting ever-declining standard of education in his province, the education secretary said they had failed to find candidates for appointments as per required standard.
He said Rs170 million had been allocated for free education up to primary level, of which 1.4 million children would get benefit.
When asked why in Khairpur district, out of 80 high schools, 40 were functioning without head masters, he claimed a plan to fill the vacancies.
