KOHAT: Teachers' body wants raise effective from July 2004

KOHAT, March 3: The Kohat Teachers Association has adopted a resolution demanding early presentation of the pay and pension commission report for increase in salary and asked the government to make the raise effective from July 2004 like it has been done in the case of parliamentarians.

The annual meeting of the teachers association, held under chairmanship of Prof Sherzada on Thursday, demanded that the government should refrain from introducing new controversial educational policies under the Agha Khan Board.

Discussing other matters, the meeting suggested that inter-board transfers should be made keeping in view the experience and ability of the staff. The meeting also suggested that honest people should be deputed for conducting secondary school annual examinations.
