KOHAT: Abducted Wapda men recovered

KOHAT, March 7: Police have recovered seven Wapda employees who were kidnapped while checking illegal power connections in the Bazidkhel area near here on Saturday.

Officials said a Wapda team led by SDO college town sub-division Mujeebur Rehman had been taken hostage by some people in a hujra (outpost) when they were checking illegal power connections. Those kidnapped included line superintendent Noor Mohammad, linemen Abdul Samad, Dilbar Shah, Sadiq Hassan, Aqeel Shehzad and driver Karamat Hussain.

Later, a police team recovered them from the hujra. However, no one was arrested. A case has been registered against unidentified people and a hunt has been launched by the police for their arrest. Meanwhile, the Wapda labour union has demanded arrest of the accused and action against power thieves in the area.
