HYDERABAD: Couple's plea for protection

HYDERABAD, March 8: A couple from Goth Laung Rahujo, Khairpur Nathan Shah, Dadu district, have sought government's protection, saying their lives are in danger.

Speaking at a news conference, Abida Parveen said she had married Laung Khan Rahujo on Oct 11, 2004, of her own will in the court of the judicial magistrate of Johi.

She alleged that she and her husband were now being threatened with dire consequences by her relatives, Master Imdad and others. She said her husband was being forced to divorce her otherwise he and his family would be implicated in false cases.

The couple appealed to authorities to provide them with protection. Answering a question, they said no case had been registered against them at any police station but they were being issued threats.

CRACKDOWN: The revenue department, Hyderabad City taluka municipal administration, here on Tuesday launched a crackdown on defaulters under orders of City Nazim Moinuddin Shaikh.
