GUJRANWALA: School head booked for thrashing 17 students
GUJRANWALA, Jan 3: The parents lodged an FIR against a private school head on Saturday for severely thrashing some 17 students and cutting their hair merely for not completing the homework at Garjakh.
Muhammad Asif fell into a rage when he found that the students did not do their homework. He beat up students mercilessly with an iron rod and also cut their hair. The parents hastened to the school and strongly protested against the principal. Later, they got registered a case against the principal.
They demanded that the Education department should take stern action against the principal as the government had already banned the physical torture of students.
The school head was not available in his office for comments while his staff was reluctant to breath any word about the incident.
PATROL POSTS: At least eight patrolling posts will soon be constructed along the roads throughout the district to check the hijacking of vehicles and looting of passersby.
The decision was taken at a meeting held here on Saturday presided over by DPO Saud Aziz while all senior police officers were also present on the occasion.
The meeting was told that crime incidents on the highways had become a challenge for the police while these patrolling posts would help combat the dacoities and robberies effectively.
The DPO said that patrolling posts would be built at Nandipur, Farid Town By-pass Intersection, Ferozwala (Gujranwala Sadar), Sodara, Artali Virkan, Ugo Binder, Ghumanwala and Pipli Goraya.
He said the Punjab government would deploy a special police force at these posts while the district government would provide elite force squads and police commandos for round-the-clock duty in shifts.
