DADU: Emergency declared in Kachho area: Skin disease

DADU, Jan 24: Following the outbreak of skin disease leishmaniasis in Kachho area of the district, the health department on Saturday declared emergency and directed in charges of health facilities to establish medical camps for 14 days in the affected areas.

EDO health Dr Moula Bux Jamali while talking to the newsmen said directives had been issued to in charges of health centres of Wahi Pandhi, Drigh Bala, Qasbo, T. R. Khan, Hero Khan, Pat Gul Mohammad, Tore, K. B. Chakar, Gaji Shah, Moundar Jamali and Haji Khan to establish medical camps in the affected areas to provide medical treatment to skin disease victims.

He said on receiving the reports of skin disease, medicines were provided to health centres of the Kachho belt.

He said the people were avoiding to come at the health centres and medical camps while due to scattered population the health officials were facing hardships but the special teams of the doctors had been assigned to reach the affected people.

He said total 229 cases of leishmaniasis were reported at different government-run health centres from Jan 1 to Jan 24.

He appealed to the Nazims of the union councils and head of the villages to cooperate with the health staff for proper medical treatment.

He said medical camps were also setup at the Taluka Hospital Mehar, Khairpur Nathan Shah, Johi and civil hospital Dadu.
