SIALKOT: Trader, son die after eating gol gappas

SIALKOT, Jan 24: An industrialist and his son died while six other family members, including three women, fell unconscious after eating gol gappas in Muhallah Rangpura here on Saturday.

Fakhar Ahmed bought gol gappas from an unknown street vendor which were eaten by all the family members. Fakhar and his son Usman (10) died instantly while the other family members fainted.

They were rushed to the local DHQ Hospital where their condition was described as critical.

Police are going into the matter.

LAID TO REST: Former MPA Chaudhry Ghulam Ahmad, who died late on Friday night, was laid to rest on Saturday in his native graveyard at Zafarwal, Shakargarh tehsil.

A large number of the people attended his funeral prayer.

He has left behind a widow and two sons.
