KOHAT: Rs25.4m allocated for school upgradation
KOHAT, Feb 14: The district government has allocated Rs25.4 million for the upgradation of schools in all union councils under the 2003-2004 Annual Development Programme.
This was stated by Chairman of district education committee Dr Matiullah Shah in a press release issued here on Friday.
He called upon journalists and community leaders to monitor the construction work, ensuring that the funds were being spent judiciously.
He said that Rs3.4 million would be spent on the upgradation of schools from primary to middle level, Rs10.68 million on upgradation of schools from middle to high level and Rs6.86 million on upgradation of schools from high to higher secondary level.
Similarly, Rs4.38 would be utilised for starting post- graduate classes in various institutions.
He said that more attention would be paid to the renovation of old school buildings and wherever necessary electrical wiring and structure of the buildings would be changed to accommodate the rising number of students.
