NAWABSHAH: Flour situation reviewed
NAWABSHAH, Feb 14: District Nazim Faryal Talpur presided over a meeting here on Saturday which discussed a shortage of wheat flour in the district.
District food controller Rafique Rajpar briefed the meeting that 3,000 wheat bags were laying in the government godowns and no sufficient quota was received from the Sindh government.
The Nazim urged the DFC to distribute 500 bags to flour mills and ensure that good quality of wheat was supplied to them.
She said she would request the Sindh government to increase wheat quota for the district.
The DFC informed that the government was receiving wheat from Australia which would reach soon.
The district Nazim inspected the drainage system of Qazi Ahmed town and received complaints from the public regarding poor functioning the system.
She formed a committee to check the drainage system in the town. She also received complaints against the Taluka Municipal Officer of Doulatpur.
RALLY: The primary teachers took out a procession and held a demonstration outside the press club for the acceptance of their demands on Saturday.
They were carrying placards and raising slogans for acceptance of demands.
Later, they moved to the district government secretariat and presented a memorandum to the DCO and district Nazim.
