NAWABSHAH: Seminar on population planning held

NAWABSHAH, April 10: The district government will provide every possible assistance to population welfare department for controlling population explosion.

This was said by District Nazim Faryal Talpur while speaking at a seminar "Role of RMPs and PLDs in population programme" organized by the Population Welfare Department at the People's Medical College the other day.

She said the government launched family planning programme in early sixties for normalizing the growth rate and to overcome population explosion.

The district nazim said efforts should be taken to overcome increase of population.

She said such a seminar would be organized which would help to motivate the people and NGOs should also be encouraged and provided necessary facilities so that they could motivate people.

Population and Welfare Secretary Mushtaq Memon, DCO Gul Mohammad Umrani and PMC principal Prof Azam Yousfani also spoke on the occasion.

HUNGER STRIKE: Growers of Malwah branch Shah Rukun and Jaado minors continued their token hunger strike outside the press club against the irrigation officials of Dad irrigation division for creating artificial shortage here the other day.
