BAHAWALPUR: Polio case denied
BAHAWALPUR, May 29: The health department officials claimed on Saturday that no indication of polio was found during preliminary investigation in the case of a labourer's infant.
However, they said the blood samples of the seven-month-old Naqqash, son of Muhammad Riaz of Chak 55/DB (Yazman), had been sent to a laboratory in Islamabad for detailed analysis.
They said the child, who was brought to the Bahawal Victoria Hospital for examination, would undergo an X-ray for some defect in his left leg.
According to Naqqash's mother Sughran Bibi, the child was unable to walk due to some defect in the joint of the leg.
She insisted that he was suffering from polio, but the doctors were denying the fact.
