DADU: 58 arrested in crackdown on criminals

DADU, June 12: The district police on Friday launched an operation against criminals in the Kutcho belt along the Indus river and Kachho along the Sindh-Balochistan border.

Police arrested 58 persons during the operation in Mahi Otho, Rajri, Khundah, Sona Bindi, Jhallo, Aminani, Ismail ja Bhan, K. T. Khera, K. T. Khushik, K. T. Jatoi, New Goth, Faridabad, Mado, Qasbo, Slari, Drigh Bala, Tando Raheem Khan, Jhangara, Naing Sharif, Gorakh hill station and Khirthar range areas.

DPO Javed Alam Odho said that police had seized eight kalashnikovs, five rifles, 34 shotguns, one repeater, 49 pistols and hundreds of bullets from the arrested bandits. He said that 1,500 police officials had been deployed at different points in Kutcho and Kachho areas. He said that two new police stations in Mangejo and Thora Chandio had also been set up.
