SAHIWAL: Two outlaws held after 'encounter'

SAHIWAL, July 31: The local police on Saturday claimed to have arrested two outlaws after an encounter of around one-hour near Chak 86/6-R.

The outlaws were on their way by a motorcycle (SLK-334) when a police party at a check post signalled them to stop. But the outlaws opened fire on the policemen. Luckily, the policemen remained unhurt. Later taking a shelter, the police also returned fire. The shootout continued for some one hour after which the outlaws surrendered to police. The arrested outlaws were identified as Ahmad Sattar and Sajjad Sattar.

The police have registered a case against the outlaws under sections 324, 353, 186 PPC.

CASE: Yousafwala police on Saturday registered a case against five PPP activists for kidnapping, torturing and humiliating a former zila council member.

Eight armed men had kidnapped Mehr Naurang Sial from his Chak 66/5-L and took him to their Chak 61/5-L some days back. Later, they shaved his head, blackened his face and then forced him to march in village streets.

Police have registered a case against Mahboob Alam, Nadeem, Falak Sher, Iqbal and Nota with no arrest.
