KOHAT: 3 proclaimed offenders arrested

KOHAT, Aug 21: Police arrested three proclaimed offenders, including a fugitive who had been at large for the last 21 years and also seized illegal weapons and fake currency being smuggled to down-country during raids conducted on Friday-Saturday night , says a press release issued here on Saturday.

Kohat Saddar circle ASP Mohammad Jaffer, acting on a tip-off, arrested Nasrullah Jan wanted in a number of murder cases for the last 21 years from his house in Kot village. He offered no resistance at the time of the arrest. The police also recovered a 30-bore pistol from the fugitive.

The Janglekhel and Ustarzai police stations nabbed two proclaimed offenders and eight gamblers and recovered one Kalashnikov, one Kalakov, 12 pistols, one dagger, 12 chargers, 336 cartridges, 23 kilograms of charas, 14 grams of heroin, 11 bottles of liquor and fake currency worth Rs16,500.

Similarly, Amanullah of Rahimyar Khan and Samar Gul of Bara were arrested at the Kohat Tunnel during a routine checking. The accused were found in possession of fake currency notes of Rs100,000 and Rs3,050.
