SHEIKHUPURA: Two held with 100kg hashish

SHEIKHUPURA, Aug 28: Muridke Saddar police claimed on Saturday to have seized 100 kilograms of hashish in Ravi Reyan area and arrested two drug pushers.

On a tip-off, the police raided the locality. On seeing the officials, the drug traffickers opened fire. After an exchange of fire, the police team, comprising SHO Akram Kamboh and constable Majeed, arrested them.

They were identified as Mohammad Hussain and Riaz.

The police said during investigation, the accused revealed that one Amir Khan from tribal areas had brought the contraband to dispatch it to Lahore areas.

SISTERS MURDERED: In another incident, two brothers allegedly murdered their wives in Babay De Kutiya village, Saddar.

According to police, Shan and Mansha had married with Ruqayya, 30, and Mumtaz, 25, who were sisters and residents of Gulshan-i-Ravi. Both the couple were not having good relations.

The women were found slaughtered in their beds on Saturday morning.

Motive behind their murder could not be ascertained. However, the Factory Area police have registered a case against Shan and Mansha on the complaint of women's mother Iqbal Bibi.

Both the women had two children each.

double murder: A man allegedly killed his sister and her paramour in Bhauman village in the Bhekhi police limits, some 25 kilometres from here, on Saturday.

Police said Khalida and Sajid had illicit relations. Zulfiqar asked his sister to mend her ways but to no avail.

He attacked them with a sharp-edged weapon on seeing them in objectionable condition and killed them on the spot.

Bhekhi police are investigating.
