GUJRANWALA: Manufacturers demand better facilities
GUJRANWALA, Sept 25: Speakers at a seminar have stressed upon the government to provide better facilities to manufacturers and industrialists enabling them to compete internationally for enhancing the foreign exchange.
The seminar was organized jointly by the Export Promotion Bureau and the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry here on Saturday.
The speakers said sector-wise promotion of industry and provision of technical information would help improve the quality of products.
The manufacturers and industrialists urged the government to reduce power tariff for industrial and commercial units besides providing other better facilities.
EPB Executive-Officer Muhammad Arshad pointed out that exports of 'made in Gujranwala' products had reached to US$225 million against US$500 million target. He hoped that the target would be met as the government was adopting solid steps to that effect.
Chamber President Sheikh Shaukat Javed and other office-bearers spoke of the difficulties being faced by the manufacturers and industrialists.
