NAWABSHAH: Motorway police to take over Gwadar highway

NAWABSHAH, Oct 16: The motorway police will soon takeover the Karachi-Gwadar coastal highway. This was stated by the inspector-general of the motorway police, Mr Ziaul Hassan, after inaugurating the sector-II of the N-5 of the National Highway at Sakrand on Saturday.

He said that the crime rate along the highways had decreased upto 90 per cent and the accident ratio upto 70 per cent after the induction of the motorway police.

He said the Nooriabad industrial area on the Super Highway was disturbed due to crime but now it was prospering and 10 new factories were opened.

He said the industrialists had appreciated the efforts taken by the motorway police.

Addressing the police officials, he claimed, the motorway police department was the only department which was free from corruption.

He said he was working as the IG motorways for two and half years and so far no corruption case had been recorded.

He said the police had started 130 toll-free telephone number for commuters travelling on the motorway and highways.

He said the passengers would be provided round-the-clock assistance. He said the department would provide best medical facilities to police officials and their families. He said an ambulance with a medical officer would soon be provided for the N-5.
