FAISALABAD: Accused in Qari Noor's case freed

FAISALABAD, Oct 19: Police freed all three accused wanted in the murder case of Qari Noor Mohammad on Monday night.

Reports said the Kotwali police had arrested Union Council No 263 Naib Nazim Irfan Gul, his father Gul Mohammad and Jamia Masjid Mubarik committee treasure Haji Bashir Ahmad when a local sessions court rejected their bail applications on Monday.

They were shifted to the Kotwali police station amid tight security. In the late hours, the police freed all of them claiming that they had no sufficient proof of their involvement in the murder of Qari Noor.

Meanwhile, the local leadership of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal after receiving information about their release gathered outside the police station and blamed the police for patronizing the 'culprits'.

Talking to newsmen on Tuesday, MMA leaders threatened to come on the road if the freed persons were not rounded up within 48 hours.
