SAHIWAL: Nine booked for fake land transfer

SAHIWAL, Oct 19: Police on Tuesday registered a case against nine people, including a Naib Tehsildar, Qanungo and Patwari, for fraudulently transferring agricultural land in Chak 67/4-R.

Reports said Sabiran and Gullan inherited 300 kanals after the death of their father Lal Khan. Hussain and Sikandar, two farmers of the village, in connivance with Naib Tehsildar Abdul Hamid, Qanungo Malkiat Ali and Patwari Noor Kathia, got the land transferred in their name by producing Chuhran and Nooran who impersonated Sabiran and Gullan.

On appeal by the girls, the district revenue officer conducted an inquiry and ordered registration of a case against the officials and others. The case was registered under Section 419, 420, 467, 468 and 471 of the PPC with no arrest.

ROBBERIES: Robbers looted cash and other valuables here on Monday night in three strikes.

Near Chak 89/6-R, the bandits took away Rs14,000 from UC Nazim Naveed Aslam and his colleagues Javed, Naeem and Aslam.

A milkman, Shamshad, was deprived of his motorcycle and a cash of Rs15,000 on 11/11-L distributary bridge. Eight gangsters took away Rs125,000 from 10 passersby on Noorshah Kacha Road.
