SIALKOT: Abduction, rape case against SI, constables

SIALKOT, Oct 20: On the orders of the Lahore High Court, a case was registered against an SI, an ASI and other policemen for kidnapping a local landlord and his aunt and raping her.

According to the FIR, SI Mehmood Khan along with other policemen illegally raided the house of Jabar Hussain Shah in Rab Nawaz Colony, Daska, between the night of Sept 8 and 9. They abducted Jabar Shah and his aunt 'F', took them away to Sucheetgarh police check post where the SI raped the old woman at gunpoint. Later, the accused SI released the Jabar Shah by taking Rs40,000 as bribe.

The matter was reported to the Daska police, but they used delaying tactics.

Victim Jabar moved the LHC for the registration of a case against the accused policemen. He informed court that he had lodged a corruption case against SI Mehmood Khan with the anti-corruption establishment, Gujranwala. He alleged that the SI had earlier extorted Rs30,000 from him in another minor case. However, no arrest has so far been made in this regard.
