KHAIRPUR: Moot to settle tribal dispute planned

KHAIRPUR, Oct 23: The tribal elders have decided to hold a meeting tomorrow to resolve the Jagirani-Solangi dispute. The prominent people of the Solangi tribe met Sardar Sundar Khan Sundrani , the chieftain of Jagiranis, at his residence in Rohri on Friday. The elders of the Jagirani tribe were also present on the occasion.

It was decided that a meeting of tribal chieftains and others would be held on October 25 at the circuit house in Sukkur to settle the dispute.

The news has been welcomed by the residents of Kingri taluka.

The tribal feud started on July 25 in Kingri and Khairpur talukas and has claimed 19 lives including those of two women and left 30 persons injured so far.

SUKKUR: Five houses of the Solangi tribesmen were torched by unidentified armed men in Mohammad Ismail Solangi village near Pir-jo-Goth on Saturday evening.

However, no loss of life or injury was reported.
