HYDERABAD: Court issues warrants in 'carnage case'

HYDERABAD, Oct 27: A bench of the Sindh High Court, Hyderabad, on Wednesday issued bailable warrants in the sum of Rs25,000 to respondents in the Sept 30, 1988, Hyderabad carnage case who did not attend the court despite serving of notice.

Sindh Additional Advocate-General Masood A. Noorani submitted fresh address of respondents who had not been served notices.

Dr Qadir Bux Magsi, Dr Mohammad Dawood, Bashir Ahmad, Ahmad Khan, Ghulam Hyder, Dr Qadeer, Gul Hassan, Dr Ghulam Mohammad, Hidayatullah, Dr Humayun Kazi, Mehboob Ali, Karim Bux Leghari, Mohammad Qasim, Hassan Chandio, Nawab, Dr Abdul Azeem, Shaman, Abdullah, Noor Jan, Amir Bux, Jan Mohammad, Ghulam Rasool, Mastoo, Hakim, Ali Gohar, Munawar Ali, Asif, Deedar, Khadim, Ashiq, Shafi Mohammad, Sahib Khan, Dadan and Laiq had been acquitted in the case by the sixth additional district and sessions judge on July 25, 2003, but the Sindh government had filed an appeal against the acquittal in the high court.
