HARIPUR: No-trust motion against Khanpur nazim moved

HARIPUR, Oct 30: A no-trust motion was tabled against the Khanpur Union Council nazim here on Saturday. Voting on the motion is scheduled to be held on Monday.

General Councillor Raja Ishfaq, who seconded the no-trust motion against Nazim Raja Zeshan Haidar Kiyani, told the reporters that Councillor Akhtar Zaman submitted the resolution against the nazim with Convener Naib Nazim Malik Mohammad Nazir during the monthly session of the council.

The resolution, he said, carried the signatures of 17 members who had also decided on oath to get rid of the nazim whom they branded as "arrogant and violator of LGO 2001".

The councillors presented a charge-sheet against the nazim accusing him of spending funds without taking the house into confidence and getting development schemes approved from the house with a simple majority.

They said the members were compelled to take the extreme step because the nazim had no regard for the members and used threatening language whenever asked to mend his ways.

The convener accepted the resolution and announced to hold vote-count on the no-trust move on Monday.
