HYDERABAD: 1,180 take test for admission
HYDERABAD, Oct 31: The University of Sindh on Sunday conducted a pre-entry test for admission to master's programmes for the new academic session of 2005 in all 42 institutes and departments.
The test was conducted by the Centre for Testing and Employment and supervised and monitored by the university's senate members and deans of faculties.
A total number of 1,239 candidates - 359 girls and 880 boys -- deposited their admission forms while 1,180 appeared in the test.
The university had set up 27 examination blocks which were connected with modern sound equipment network to provide guidance and instructions to the candidates.
University of Sindh Vice-Chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui accompanied by the coordinator of the CTE Prof Asif Ali Kazi, Dr Anwar Ali Shah, Dr Kazi Khadim, Dr Rafia Shaikh, Saleh Rajar and Dr Saeed Soomro visited the examination centre.
Admit cards of the candidates were checked by the administration at the main entrance of blocks.
The directorate of admissions had established information counters at the campus for the guidance of candidates. The university authorities announced that the result would be announced on the website of the university www.usindh.edu.pk.
It may be recalled that last year 877 candidates - 269 girls and 608 boys - had appeared in the test for admissions to master's programme.
