Sad day for Pakistan squash
KARACHI, Nov 2: All three Pakistanis Mansoor Zaman, Shahid Zaman and Carla Khan lost in the second phase of main rounds of British Open Squash Championship at Nottingham.
According to the details available on Tuesday, Pakistan No 1 Mansoor Zaman lost to John White from Scotland.
After playing in two sets Mansoor could not carry on as he was not well. However he lost the first two sets and finally gave up after 15 minutes play with White winning 11-7, 11-3 (retd sick).
Shahid played stubbornly against his second seeded rival Theiry Lincou from France in 44 minutes encounter. Theirry had to fight for each and every point as it was not an easy winning for him.
Shahid after losing the first set 11-7 came back roaring in the other set but not fortunate enough to won it as the opponent won the other two sets as well 11-10, 11-9 to wrap up the match.
Carla Khan who remain engaged in a marathon encounter against Ninth seeded Omneya Abdel Kway from Egypt which lasted in about 71 minutes also saw the same fate but not before giving a message to her male compatriots.
Carla lost to Omneya after five sets. After losing the first set 4-9 she came back in the game by winning the second set 9-6, and third 10-8 but after than lady luck was no more with her as her seeded rival staged a great recovery and won the next two sets 9-5, 9-6.
