DADU: Admissions on fake domiciles alleged: Chandka Medical College

DADU, Nov 9: A group of students of the district have alleged that sons of influential people who belonged to other districts but had got fake domiciles have been granted admissions to the Chandka Medical College, Larkana, on reserved seats for Dadu.

The students, including Khalid Hussain Soomro, Mumtaz Ali and Javed Ahmad, were talking to journalists after holding a protest demonstration here on Tuesday.

They alleged that the DCO office issued domicile certificates to those who were not permanent residents of the Dadu district. They said the domiciles had been issued to outsiders in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004.

They said a delegation of the affected students of Dadu had complained to the college administration about admissions granted on the basis of the fake domicile certificates.

They said the college administration had issued letters to the DCO for verification of the domicile certificates but the DCO's office was delaying the matter.

They said the students' delegation had tried to meet DCO Allamuddin Bullo but the staff had told them that the DCO had not been coming to his office for few weeks.

They appealed to the president and the prime minister to order an impartial inquiry into the matter.

When contacted on telephone, the DCO said he would check domicile certificates issued by his office and if any certificate was found fake it would be cancelled and a letter of cancellation would be sent to administrations of medical colleges.
