RAWALPINDI: Poor attendance in offices, educational institutions

RAWALPINDI, Nov 18: Attendance at all government offices and educational institutions remained thin on Thursday, as they opened after four-day Eid holidays.

The first working day usually sees poor attendance in offices, as most of the people go to their home towns to spend Eid with their near and dear ones. They usually try to leave for their home towns two or three days before Eid.

In Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) the heads and subordinate staff of most of departments were absent, while those present in their respective departments were engaged in exchanging Eid greetings.

The situation in Rawalpindi and Chaklala cantonments boards, however, was somewhat encouraging, as almost all the heads and subordinate staff of different departments were present.

Many former and serving army officers, elites of the town and political figures visited the RCB office to exchange Eid greetings with the employees. Attendance in schools and colleges also remained poor.
